LOCAL CONTENT POLICY/ STRATEGY
COMMUNITY RELATIONS INITIATIVE
It is the policy of Delta Marine to create good working relationship with the indigenes of the host community where our projects are domiciled.
Management shall liaise with client’s community liaison officer (CLO) and the host communities before commencement of entry activities with the aim of reducing or eliminating disruptions during the actual contract execution.
At Delta Marine, we pay particular focus on:-
- Pro-active resolutions of disputes/misunderstanding. Strategies are put in place to prevent any dispute/misunderstanding to reduce or eliminate any down time and its associated costs.
- Use of local labour from the host communities for both skilled and unskilled aspects of projects.
- Seek and develop local and indigenous workers with the aim of transferring technology and equipping them to be self reliant in compliance with the Federal Government of Nigeria's Local content policy.
- Adequate communication with host communities / authorities and proper acknowledgement of the relevant leaders/authorities of the host community.
- Identification of registered and competent local contractors to use as vendors on the project.
We believe that peaceful co-existence of our project team and host community is not just beneficial to both parties, but to the client and the host economy.
Management is committed to a healthy relationship between Delta Marine and any host community - 'as together we form the body of stakeholders'.
